Men’s Team Head Coach & Program Director
Jamie Henderson was born in Champaign, IL then moved to Kansas City, MO at 10 years old where his gymnastics career began. In a short amount of time, Jamie chose to move to Houston, TX where he would train under Kevin Mazeika with assistants such as Yuan Xiao and Rustam Sharipov. During that training in Texas, Jamie qualified to the Junior National Team where he competed for the United States on the junior international level in competitions such as Canberra Cup and Pacific Alliance.
After his junior career, Jamie continued his training in gymnastics as a collegiate athlete at the University of Oklahoma. There he trained under head coach Mark Williams and assistants Yuan Xiao, Guard Young, and Rustam Sharipov. During his 4 years of eligibility, Jamie received the accolades of 5-time All-American, 3-time NCAA Team Champions, and Nissen Emery Award Finalist. Jamie continued his career at the elite level where he qualified to the Senior National Team. At the senior level he earned the alternate spot on the Pan American Championships Team and competed in the Ghent World Cup event.
During his competitive college career Jamie also achieved his Bachelors degree in Fine Arts with a focus in painting and his Master’s degree in Fine Arts with a focus in sculpture.
